Can you imagine having to miss or drop out of school because you don’t have the supplies to deal with your menstrual period? Days for Girls is helping change that.
Around the world, girls and women resort to using rags, mattress stuffing, banana leaves, feathers and even cow dung to manage their menstrual cycles. Days for Girls (DfG) provides menstrual care kits to give girls in developing countries the dignity and confidence to attend school and gain education for the betterment of their families and communities.
Without a solution to manage her monthly cycle, 1 in 10 girls in Sub-Saharan Africa, 113 million adolescent girls in India, and 30% of girls in rural Brazil will miss school this year. DfG is changing that. Providing a girl with what she needs changes everything — pads are a small thing that makes a big difference. Dropout rates in a Uganda school went from 25% to 4% after one year of access to DfG Kits.
One Girl is proud to help DfG provide safe, beautiful, washable and long-lasting Menstrual Care Kits for girls in developing countries.
Together, we’re creating a world with dignity, health and opportunity for all. Each DfG Kit, which lasts up to three years, replaces 360+ disposable pads. Along with these kits, Days for Girls provides vital health education by developing global partnerships and cultivating social enterprises. Together, we’re creating a world with dignity, health and opportunity for all.
